You would need to connect the rotary motion to an alternator. Most people have a tough time producing over 100 watts for any period of time so what you can do with the power is limited. I did modify an exercise bike once to generate electricity. Since you have to pedal constantly it was really a waste. It was a fun during a power outage when I had it hooked to a bulb.
