It might help with love handles because your body sways when you peddle hard & fast enough. It’s going to help your arms if there are handles on the bike that you’re pushing forward and backwards. Otherwise, you’re going to have to sign up at a gym because it’s not going to help you lose much weight on anything else ‘cept your legs, afterall, what is a bike for? And for the double chin, it will go away itself when you lose some weight, don’t worry.

Jenny Jay is incorrect. You can’t spot reduce fat. One of the biggest mistakes people make on an exercise bike is they don’t give enough intensity. A stationary bike can be helpful only if you monitor your heart rate and make sure it is in the fat-burning region. About 120 bpm. This becomes difficult over time because it is real easy for the body to get used to biking, it then takes much more effort to get the heart rate going. But it is wise to just monitor your heart rate, that is the key to tell you that you are burning fat from ALL places in your body, not just your legs.
